Tape and spring for the modular world

AetherSpool for Rack

Bring the tape machine into your patch. Add voltage control, physical tape gestures and dedicated spring routing.

What it does

Build a stereo tape-loop path with regeneration, tone, saturation, wow, speed, mix and latching Hold.

Use CV to animate tape length, regeneration, speed, mix, tone, spring tank size and damping.

Explore the coupled spring reverb through its dedicated input, wet output, manual Knock and trigger input.

Start exploring

  1. Patch a mono signal to IN L or stereo signals to IN L and IN R. Connect OUT L/R to your mixer or audio output.
  2. Choose a tape range and set Length, Regen and Mix. Shape the loop with Speed, Tape Tone, Saturation and Wow.
  3. Enable the spring section, then experiment with Exciter, Tank Size, Damping and the Knock trigger.
